چکیده

A Multi-matching Technique for Combining Similarity Measures in Ontology Integration Ahmed Khalifa Alasoud, Ph.D. Concordia University, 2009 Ontology matching is a challenging problem in many applications, and is a major issue for interoperability in information systems. It aims to find semantic correspondences between a pair of input ontologies, which remains a labor intensive and expensive task. This thesis investigates the problem of ontology matching in both theoretical and practical aspects and proposes a solution methodology, called multi-matching. The methodology is validated using standard benchmark data and its performance is compared with available matching tools. The proposed methodology provides a framework for users to apply different individual matching techniques. It then proceeds with searching and combining the match results to provide a desired match result in reasonable time. In addition to existing applications for ontology matching such as ontology engineering, ontology integration, and exploiting the semantic web, the thesis proposes a

Evaluation of Similarity Measures for Template Matching

Image matching is a critical process in various photogrammetry, computer vision and remote sensing applications such as image registration, 3D model reconstruction, change detection, image fusion, pattern recognition, autonomous navigation, and digital elevation model (DEM) generation and orientation. The primary goal of the image matching process is to establish the correspondence between two ...

Centralized Clustering Method To Increase Accuracy In Ontology Matching Systems

Ontology is the main infrastructure of the Semantic Web which provides facilities for integration, searching and sharing of information on the web. Development of ontologies as the basis of semantic web and their heterogeneities have led to the existence of ontology matching. By emerging large-scale ontologies in real domain, the ontology matching systems faced with some problem like memory con...

SHAPLEY FUNCTION BASED INTERVAL-VALUED INTUITIONISTIC FUZZY VIKOR TECHNIQUE FOR CORRELATIVE MULTI-CRITERIA DECISION MAKING PROBLEMS

Interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set (IVIFS) has developed to cope with the uncertainty of imprecise human thinking. In the present communication, new entropy and similarity measures for IVIFSs based on exponential function are presented and compared with the existing measures. Numerical results reveal that the proposed information measures attain the higher association with the existing me...

Integrated Ontology Matching and Evaluation

The AgreementMaker system for ontology matching includes an extensible architecture, which facilitates the integration and performance tuning of a variety of matching methods, an evaluation mechanism, which can make use of a reference matching or rely solely on quality measures, and a multi-purpose user interface, which drives both the matching methods and the evaluation strategies. Our demo fo...

Determining Semantic Similarity among Entity Classes from Different Ontologies

Semantic similarity measures play an important role in information retrieval and information integration. Traditional approaches to modeling semantic similarity compute the semantic distance between definitions within a single ontology. This single ontology is either a domain-independent ontology or the result of the integration of existing ontologies. We present an approach to computing semant...
